KRISTIN WILSON
Director & Exercise Physiologist
BPhEd, PGDipSci (Cardiac Rehabilitation)

Prior to joining Dominion Clinic in 2011, Kristin worked as a Cardiac physiologist, in a private health screening clinic in London. Before her time in the United Kingdom she co-ordinated the Auckland Cardiac Rehabilitation clinic, where she managed cardiac prevention and rehabilitation programmes as well as training post graduate students.

Kristin holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Science - Cardiac Rehabilitation through the University of Auckland, as well as a Bachelor of Physical Education majoring in exercise prescription which she obtained at Otago University.

Kristin not only enjoys the technical aspect of being an exercise physiologist here at the clinic but she is also vitally interested in the educative parts of the clinic’s procedures and in informing and encouraging clients to implement life-style change particularly in the areas of diet and exercise habits.

MELANIE MORRIS-JENKINS
Clinical Cardiac Physiologist
BHlthSc PGDipMedTech

Melanie graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Health Science. She went on to complete her Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Technology endorsed in Cardiology with Otago University.

Prior to joining Dominion Clinic Melanie worked at Wakefield Heart Centre where she carried out her training and continued to work there for many years. Melanie worked in the Cath Lab and gained experience in angiography, angioplasty, right heart studies, electrophysiology and pacemaker implantation and programming. Melanie also led outpatient clinics, conducted exercise stress tests, lung function testing and holter monitor analysis of ECG rhythms.

Melanie is passionate about health and enjoys sharing her knowledge. In her spare time, she enjoys exercise, reading, various crafts and spending time with her husband and two daughters.  

Melanie will carry out your cardiac tests, including your resting and exercise ECG, and provide lifestyle recommendations.

 

JAYNA BURNLEY
Exercise Technician
BSc, PGDipSci (Clinical Exercise Physiology)

Jayna graduated from the University of Otago with both a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physical Education, Activity and Health and a Post Graduate Diploma in Science in Sport Exercise and Health focusing on Clinical Exercise Physiology. During her studies she gained valuable experience in exercise physiology, exercise prescription and exercise psychology. She also gained practical experience creating personalised exercise programmes for individuals with chronic conditions to help improve lifestyle as well as manage their condition.

Jayna is passionate about the use of exercise as a tool for healthy lifestyle as well as the benefits it has on preventive health and enjoys sharing this knowledge.

Jayna will carry out your hearing, vision, lung function and body composition measures. She will also assist Melanie or Kristin with ECG’s and blood pressure monitoring.
