KRISTIN WILSON
Director & Exercise Physiologist
BPhEd, PGDipSci (Cardiac Rehabilitation)

Prior to joining Dominion Clinic in 2011, Kristin worked as a Cardiac physiologist, in a private health screening clinic in London. Before her time in the United Kingdom she co-ordinated the Auckland Cardiac Rehabilitation clinic, where she managed cardiac prevention and rehabilitation programmes as well as training post graduate students.

Kristin holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Science - Cardiac Rehabilitation through the University of Auckland, as well as a Bachelor of Physical Education majoring in exercise prescription which she obtained at Otago University.

Kristin not only enjoys the technical aspect of being an exercise physiologist here at the clinic but she is also vitally interested in the educative parts of the clinic’s procedures and in informing and encouraging clients to implement life-style change particularly in the areas of diet and exercise habits.

ABBEY HEWITT
Clinical Exercise Physiologist

Abbey gained her Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and her Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Universal College of Learning, and is completing her Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Technology endorsed in Cardiology with Otago University. She has conducted research on the effects of exercise rehabilitation in type two diabetics and cardiac patients with implanted pacemakers and defibrillators.

Prior to joining Dominion Clinic, Abbey worked as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist at U-Kinetics in Palmerston North where she carried out health screening assessments and designed rehabilitation programmes for clients with chronic conditions/diseases and injuries in the areas of cardiovascular and respiratory, metabolic and neurological, cancer and musculoskeletal. She also contributed to the training of UCOL post graduate students.

Abbey focuses on gaining the best possible results for her clients and is passionate about the work she does with them to enhance their health and wellbeing.

Abbey will carry out your cardiac tests, including your resting and exercise ECG, and provide lifestyle recommendations.

 

CAITLIN SZETO
Exercise Technician
BSpEx, PGCertMTEC

Caitlin graduated from Massey University of Palmerston North with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Technology through Otago University. During her studies, she has gained valuable knowledge in cardiac and respiratory physiology, and advanced exercise prescription/therapy. Caitlin also designed exercise rehabilitation programmes and trained clients with chronic health conditions to help improve their quality of life.

Caitlin likes to share her knowledge with clients with the hope of making a positive impact on their health.

Caitlin will carry out your hearing, vision, lung function and body composition measures. She will also assist Abbey or Kristin with the electrocardiograms (ECG’s) and blood pressure monitoring.
